WHO ARE THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION BAND OF WALES
The band formed in 2018, it is a symphonic wind band formed to support Royal British Legion events, and to take part in musical events across Wales. For example, a yearly Patrons concert, Poppy Day launches, remembrance concerts, quintets, small ensembles, summer fates or VE VJ events across Wales. A highlight of the bands performances in recent years was to perform at the Millenium Stadium Cardiff for the match between Wales and South Africa. The band comprises of ex regular army and reserve musicians, currently serving army reserve musicians, teachers, NHS staff, Royal Mail staff, professional, semi-professional musicians and amateur musicians. Many of the musicians in the band support other musical ensembles for example local brass bands, amateur and professional orchestras, quintets, clarinet choirs, and pop groups. The band has gone from being a rehearsal group of musicians in 2018 to a band whose public performances grow expediently year on year.
